Door of Hope 4 Teens, is a 501c(3) non-profit resource,referral and short-term counseling organization for young women and teens who struggle with self-injury. We provide help via toll free phone number, instant messaging through AIM, and e-mail. We understand when asking for advice you may not know what to say, but our counselors will guide you through your struggle with self-injury. Someone who cares is waiting to listen to your story. No problem is too big, too small, or too shocking. Together ,we can explore ways to help you overcome self-harm. . If you have found this web site, you or someone you care about is struggling with cutting or other self destructive behavior. Self-injury is a way of expressing overwhelming emotions that are too difficult to put into words. It's not your fault, you are not going crazy, nor are you a bad person. However, self-injury is an unhealthy coping mechanism. It's a temporary fix to dealing with life's challenges and emotional trauma. Once you self harm, eventually the emotional pain comes back, and the cycle of self harm continues.
