My Story
It is just over seven months since I joined Ehealth Forums. (September 13, 08) Since I have been here things have happened to me. Like eating breakfast, lunch and dinner instead of just one meal a day. Recently I have added smoothies to my eating.
My connection with Homerx got me looking for my skipping rope. I was walking to the labyrinth but that was not enough. When I got to the forums, and even now, Homerx speaks of sleep, food, exercise and medication. He says that is all I have to do to maintain my body.
I was very happy to meet Roberta777. I long to be in communication with someone older than me. She always tells me to be cautious. I remember one day she wrote me and said that I motivated her to clean out her closets. Last week, that very act motivated me to clear my closets.
I came here looking for a HIV friendly forum. I had no idea how it would look like but right here, I found more than I could have asked for. I met Homerx. I wanted to keep in touch with him and that is why in about a week and a couple of days, I started writing him a journal. Unlike other forums where people were reading but no response, I got responses here. That blows mind even today. Homerx ALWAYS writes back and I am afraid if he delays to respond because I have been lonely before. It is not easy but for the sake of the readers, I would continue to write.
I was born as Minnie and then my name changed in the school system to Minneh. I became Minneh Muthoni Kamau. When I got married in 2005, I I dropped Muthoni.
My body has had the HIV since 1993 when I knew. I could have had it for longer. I have AIDS.
Just applied for permanent resident (August 08) papers to Canada. This is my second attempt.
My daughter if she lived would have been approaching her twenties. She died of a penicillin reaction in 1997. I was here and she was in Kenya. Jacinta (Jessy) Nyambura.
I came to Canada in 1996 to an International AIDS Conference. I did not go back to Kenya. I thought I was dying but Jesus saved me. Hallelujah. I wanted to die away from family. Canada was as far as I could come.
Because of God, I did not die. The Creator. Enkai. Ngai or whatever you want to call IT. Just the good water and food got me better. I started to clean houses without a permit. I was with AIDS and had lost my passport. The immigration cops came and eventually I was in detention.
On my deportation day, my escort to Kenya asked me what I had done.
I told her of how I was born and mbae eight years old I had been raped and raped again and again and fought off some rapists and raped again at 27 years old. I told her how I grew up without self worth and how I was promiscuous and how I got pregnant, had a child, had to prostitute and how I got AIDS, how the kid is now dead and I want medication for AIDS. She called my lawyer whose number I had memorised and I was released.
I went straight to the AIDS office where I have been volunteering as a HIV/AIDS Educator since 1998.
I got anointed to run a ministry and basically, it is called See A Need - Fill A Need. Beloved husband (BH) and I work for this partnership.
When I came here to the forumsI had no friends but now I have Homerx and more friends on my list.
Thanks Ehealth Forums.
I am glad to support you.
Love and Peace and Light
