Can one have a infection with out pain ( UTI) I have puss/sand in the morning urine. I was treated for several UTI, my 4th bout. After antibiotics are done, this usally occurs about 3 weeks later. Can a fistula, left to heal on its own cause UTI's? Blood test show creatine normal 0.82 and bun normal too.

Another concern, I plan on going to a local Dr. I am very concern with tests for kidney, IVP and MRI's with contrast. I have read where it is very hard on compramised kidneys.

Thank you for your time this is a wonderful service you are giving. thank you.

Kidney Conditions Answer A4788
It seems that the main problem in this situation is the fistula between the bladder and vagina, discovered 6 years ago. It is one of the reasons for your frequent infections of the urinary tract. A kinked ureter tube and small kidney may be a result of recurrent infections. It is probable that you have made urine culture(microbiological) tests, and your doctor prescribed antibiotics according to the type of bacteria discovered in the urine sample. Ureteral abnormalities can cause urinary retention and bacterial infection of the kidney that can seriously influence the function of the kidney. Therefore, kidney function tests should be made as well as an abdominal ultrasound, IVP, and an MRI if recomended from the nephrologist. It seems likely that it is very important to consider the correction of the fistula as a basic cause of further infections. Consult your doctor.
