Q: unusual TMJ symptoms ?

I know that I have a problem with TMJ, just not sure if my problem is worsening. I have never been treated for TMJ, but symptoms point to it. My dentist does not know anything about it so he just tells me to see a specialist but my insurance will not pay for TMJ related problems.

My symptoms have always been a tired feeling in my face, clicking jaw, misaligned bite, receding lower jaw, but now my face is even looking kind of deformed in the way that on the sides of my face near my ears is enlarged and when I open my mouth there are 2 places, one right in front of my ears and the other at my temples that stick out severely, almost like a sideways letter m on either side of my face. I don't know how to describe it accurately other than it is getting larger and worse. Has anyone ever heard of this? Maybe I have something other than TMJ?

Any help or ideas are appreciated. Thank you.

unfortunately most insurance companies exclude tmj.

i do have an idea for you pm me. i think that this is definatly from the tmj--i could be wrong but often the symmetry of the face is effected by the tmj. pm me and we can talk:)
