Q: Unusual period

I am 29 yrs. old & had my tubes tied 2 years ago. I have always had very regular periods 28 days apart give or take a day or so. My last period was regular, then 2 weeks later I had another period! Very heavy off & on but it has been constant. Its been 6 days & nothing has changed. I have been under more stress then usual, could this be the reason? Also should I be concerned with anemic? Thanx in Advance!

Stress can affect your period.
If this hasn't happened before and you're still bleeding then I would see a doctor just to make sure everything is ok.

Ask you doctor to do a serum pregnancy test. It is rare but women can have ectopic pregnancies after tubal ligation procedures. Better to be safe than sorry as this can be life threatening.

Yes, I would consult a doctor. Unusual bleeding could be a sign of infection or simply due to stress, but it is better to be safe than sorry if it is due to something serious. Do you have pain with the bleeding - it could be endometriosis? I think this could cause you to be anemic if it continues, but probably not, if you have not had this more than a month or so.
