Yesterday, I sat down on the couch and immediately felt a stinging pain on my bottom. I asked my husband to look at it for me when he got home from work because the pain didn't go away but I couldn't see anything in the mirror. My first thought it was some sort of boil or pimple. He said it was raised and was red all around it, and reminded him of a bug bite. Well, today the pain is worse and I can barely walk. He looked at it again after work and said that there were 5 bumps in a circle around the original bump (which had gotten bigger). I have no idea what this is, or where it came from. It's very painful, but other than that there are no symptoms so I don't wish to seek medical help if it isn't necessary. I live in Florida, if the location helps any, and I can't post any pictures because of the area of the suspected bite. Please help me in identifying what this bite or bump is from. thanks.

Swelling after unknown bite or sting
I was in my barn ,in my horse stall, when as I sat down on a chair I felt this extreme very painful pain on the end of my thumb. Wow, it hurt like heck for about 15 to 20 mins, only one tiny spot, and no bug, spider, or anything was around. I felt lessor pain for about 3-4hrs later and begin to notice that my thumb was swelling, no itching, no color change, no bump, or drainage, just getting warm to hot and swelling. It's been about 8 hrs now and my thumb is about half again as big as my other thumb. Odd, can't indentfy the bitter/stinger, from the net so guess I'll have to wait till morning to see whats doing then. Just thought I would put this out in case someone else had the same symptoms, what bit/stung you?

Unknown Bite
I have similar symptoms on the inside of my thumb. six small painful bumps around one in the middle. I woke up and noticed my thumb was sore when i touched it and then the bumps slowly developed throughout the day with no other symptoms. I have no idea what caused though.
