I have something wrong with my esophagus and no one knows what. I am just 18 years old. After I eat and have a coughing spell until I burp really loud. This has been going on for 6 months now. My doctor put me on Protonax in October for a month, but it didn't help at all. I have had two barium swallows done and an upper endoscopy done and all they found was a very small hiatial hernia and positive for reflex. My doctor put me on Nexium twice a day for a little over a month now and it has hurt me more than helped me. Now I have diarrhea with it. I have always had some chest pain along my sternum, but the last few days it has gotten worse. What should I do?
