We have traveled to visit my parents out of town twice now and each time my 4 year old daughter is covered in bites. She may have ten at a time on arms, legs, belly, and back and then that night get more. I slept in the bed and searched it over and I don't have any bites. They have a dog but I checked her and she doesn't have fleas. Also, my daughter wasn't around the dog. It's an outside dog. She was wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt, so I don't understand. They don't have a puss head. they are red and don't appear in a group. She says they are itchy. I can't seem to prevent it.

Does she get them while sleeping?
Maybe she's being bitten by bed bugs?
Could it maybe be hives?

She has them when she wakes up but gets new ones in the afternoon, when she hasn't been in bed. The mattress is new. I checked it for bed bugs. How long do you keep hives? Don't they disappear soon after breaking out? I gave her benadryl. She still has them 3 days later.
