I noticed this morning that I have some unexplained bruising on the back of my thighs. They are about the size of a quater and are sore to the touch. I just got home last night from an 8 hour road trip so I'm wondering it it has something to do with that and if I should be concerened. My legs are very sore even as I sit at my desk today.

Hello and thank you for posting your medical question on E health forum.

From the description provided it seems that the brusing could most probably be due to the recent travel. But they are usually benign and occur as a result of constant friction of the skin.

The bruises will resolve within a week.

If there is any pain , discomfort, you might be benefited by OTC NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, which will reduce the inflammation and also aid in quick healing.

I hope this helps.

Huge bruise appeared with no trauma
Hello, I woke this morning and found a huge bruise on my outer thigh its five inches long and three inches wide, it is not solid it has lines in it, I absolutely did not bump it. It has the same pattern of the corduroy blanket I slept on that happened to be a little bunched up forming a slight lump. I am really scared....my blanket bruised me. I have also been experiencing many headaches and day and night sweats, I had my uteras and ovaries taken out 14 years ago (I am 41 years old) so that complicates the extreme sweating issue.... doesn't it? I take no medication. And eat a well rounded diet. How concerned should I be?
