I have always gotten migraines since i started puberty. This past summer though I started getting these awful migraines with auras. Eventually these auras started to last for hours at a time. I lost coordination and would walk in to stuff (not good at work seeing that I work in a furniture store!).
I am 20 years old and am overwight but on paper I am completely health. No prediabetes, no cholesterol problems. my metabolism is normal, tryglicerides are average, I am very healthy.
What is concerning me and my doctor is that in August these migraines started coming more frequently. I would have them for days at a time. My record has been 6 days, nonstop migraine. I lose my vision with them some. My left eye gets it worse. Itll look at first as if the room is foggy/smokey like typical aura and then my eye will completely white-out. Imagine getting an eyelash stuck over your eye and your eyes water and you look up at the light... thats how I can describe it.
The Opthamologist noticed my pupil in my left eye was a significantly larger during one of my episodes. He could not find anything wrong with my eyes though. Only my vision was impaired a bit from something in my brain.
My migraines are excruciating and Im usually crying and cant remember my name sometimes. They occur in the middle of my head and towards the back. Ive woken up by them. I have been through the ringer with medicines and am not responding to any.
I go to a neurologist the 15th of this month. If you have exerienced this please let me know!!!
Im just really worried because my ears are starting to ring every once in a while and I will get those ice-pick headaches along with them too. I found that my lymph nodes are extremely swollen on my left side and the antibiotics dont seem to be working. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this!
I try to let people know what Im dealing with and they are like "its nothing". ITS NOT! Its something where, unless your experiencing it, you dont understand fully what is going on. Please just let me know of anything you know of. Thanks!!

Has your doctor tested for possible hormonal problems as the cause of migraines? Additionally, you can check with an immunologist for the swollen lymph nodes and look into boosting your immune system with supplements like colostrum, multivitamins and echinacea...it sounds like you're fighting off an infection.

undiagnosed migraines
I hope that you received an answer from your neurologist. I have suffered for 23 years, seen many qualified physicians and heads of depts. at both Mayo Clinics, NIH (twice), Johns Hopkins, Emory University Hospital Dignostics, and even some out of the country.....all to no avail other than to treat the symptoms. I have an additional symptom in this constellation of symptoms which is most rare...I swell in my abdomen (10-11 inches within 20 min and I only weigh 135 lbs.--and subsequently look as though I am about to deliver twins at 50 years old.) This swelling lasts for hours to days. They see some fluid (but not pooled in the peritoneal cavity)in the MRI's, but past that don't understand. I do have GI problems concurrently, as well as pain and faintness when the swelling begins. Anyway, I do pray that they diagnose your symptoms and provide a complete remedy. I have one daughter who started suffering with migraines about age 13, and a simple medication, Inderal, used for a few months cured her for a number of years. She now gets several a month and plans to revisit the neurologist. Our other daughter, 23, suffers from migraines once or twice per week and during the past two years has started swelling in the face and abdomen just like I do...although not to the same extreme. I plan on trying to get back to NIH to see if they have additional information that has developed since I saw them 10 years ago. I hope that your journey to wellness is short, and that you gain an understanding quickly of the problem and its solution. May God bless you.
