Q: Underweight symptoms ?

I recently posted in the hypoglycemic forum, but I thought I would also ask here. Quick run down again of what's gone on. Three or four weeks ago I noticed my blood sugar levels dropping a couple of times so I went to the doctor. They took blood to test for the usual things -- hyperthyroidism (have family history of it), diabetes, anemia etc. After a week of eating seemingly constantly but feeling drained and tired, I went back. My tests were clear, but my doctor said I seem to be underweight, which could be causing my "grot" feeling, as he put it! A little bit of back story on me: I've always been quite small and petite, quite a fast metabolism. I'm currently 21 years old, 5ft 3 and weight about 47kg. I didn't realise my weight was dropping, but looking back I can see that I only really ate breakfast (toast), my main meal at night and maybe a snack or two in between, and only really did a bit of walking every week.

Over the last week I have been eating so much more (all healthy stuff, though, I'm vegetarian and mostly stick to rice, pasta, vegetables, lots of fruit, nuts and seeds etc) and I know it's going to take a while to feel better, but I really just want a bit of reassurance, as it were, that the things I'm feeling correlate with being underweight and not something else (like hypoglycemia). I get more tired at the moment (less stamina and muscle, I assume) and a bit of a "foggy" brain now and then. I'm having to eat a lot not just to put on weight but because I am hungry more often (probably my body telling me to buck up my ideas and treat it properly). The thing that I'm most concerned about is the moments of low blood sugar that I sometimes get. It feels at the moment that as soon as I start feeling hungry, some signs of low blood sugar like weakness and shakiness appear, too. I wonder if it's just because my body hasn't got many reserves at the moment and is generally using more glucose. These low blood sugar moments seem to occur mainly before my main meal in the evening -- I'm usually sitting down for a couple of hours and then when I get up to make food, I notice the weakness/shakiness.

Once again I've rambled on -- thanks for taking the time to read through it all. As in my other post, I'm just wondering if these sound like normal feelings that accompany being underweight, which will hopefully improve as I pile on the pounds, or if it's something more that I should check out...? Thanks.
