I have remi/relpasing MS and in May this year had uncotrollabkle itching which was associ with another relpase. I found not much helped me, but at times, cold compreses helped a little as did mylanta on the skin (mylanta normally you drink this for heartburn) a MS nurse told me this would help cool. anyway, this all occured during a stressful time of falling pregnnat and buying/selling property, and the first night in our new house the itchiness was no longer. so I think stress played a HUGE role. My neuro also prescribed a 12 days dose of predis (steroids) which i took 50 mg for three days slowly weaning down to 12.5.
good luck!
