after back surgery on L-2 herinated disc I started having weak legs, leg cramps, weakness, ect and after a day of leg problems it follows me to bed at night where I have uncontrollable arm and leg movement, so bad I throw myself around and then I hurt my back from all the movement, bad enough I cant walk or sit upright for a couple days. I am so sore, and so tired and my legs are so week I cannot walk and stand anymore and its causing problems at work..ever hear of this??

I'm so sorry to hear about the complications that you are experiencing after the back surgery. Although surgery may not return leg strength to normal, it can stop your leg from getting weaker, and help relieve leg pain. Surgery is usually recommended for relief of leg pain but 1 in 10 people do not get relief from symptoms; surgery is less effective in relieving back pain.

Treatments for back injury vary but might include medicines, icing, bed rest, and physical therapy. You might be able to prevent some back injuries by maintaining a healthy weight, lifting objects with your legs and using lower-back support when you sit. Losing weight can help, too. Have you tried any of these things?

Morning
Hey, I have back problems with 4-5 discs bulging and 1 with impingment..

Have you discussed this with the surgeon-could there be an impingment-maybe they need to do a CT Scan to be sure everything is like it's suppose to be from surgery..Are you following surgeons directions after surgery? Has surgery been very long ago?

Also-Once I developed similar problems I began having the leg and arm urges to move..For me if I don't move the feeling is horrible..Once I explained to my Rheumatologist he said I have RLS (restless Leg syndrome) he put me on Requip 2X a day and it has helped tremendously..Does this sound familiar? Don't know if same thing but certainly talk with the surgeon..
