Its been almost an year for me with back pain, but for the last 6 months its become very intense and unbearable. Pain is in the torso region and the worst in upper part and lower part. It runs down along the either sides of spine and is very bad at the scapula region of the back (shoulder blades), spreads across my ribs (chest pain).
It is not bad while I am walking or standing, but when I sit or lie down to sleep it is unbearable.
For the last couple months I am visting an Internal Medicine doctor. Got cervical spine, lumbar X rays done. Also got ECG, Treadmill test done.
Doc said there is a slight slip disc and was not sure for Rheumatic Arthiritis. Its been 1 1/2 month and all he gives me is high dosage pain killer tablets and muscle relaxers. Tried Physiotheray as well but no relief.
I am 30 yrs old and this pain has restricted all my daily activities, for the last 5-6 months i have not had a proper sleep.

Please, which specialist doc would you recommend I see that would help me diagnose and give a treatment? An othopedic or osteopathic physician or a chiropractor?

Hello KumR,

Welcome to this forum!!!

I'm glad you have seen your Internal Medicidne doctor. And that you have had x-rays.

I would highly recommend that you see a spinal surgeon (one with MD after his/her name). I say that because in my opinion they are the best trained in REALLY knowing and understanding the spine. They are the ones who can best advise you.

Search for the very best spinal surgeon who you can find in your area. Talk to peoply you know and find out which spinal surgeon they liked and which ones they did not like.

Send me a PM and I can give you additional thoughts.

Take care. Stay in touch!!
