Ultrasound on Kidney Cyst

Must Read
The kidneys filter blood and regulate body flood. What happens during kidney failure? And what types of kidney failure do doctors diagnose?...
There are three main condition which cause renal (kidney) failure. Learn what causes kidney failure and what factors increase your risk of kidney problems....
What are the signs of acute or chronic kidney failure? Which ones are more serious than others? And when should you ask a doctor or go to the ER for help?...
One year ago I had a CT due to pain in my abdomen. They found a cystic lesion on my right kidney. They then did an MRI and said it was slightly complex. This February they did another MRI and now want me to have an ultrasound. What I don't understand is, according to my research, it seems that an ultrasound is not as informative as an MRI. Why would they want to now give me an ultrasound after an MRI with contrast? Isn't it working backwards in a way? Can anyone answer this? I am getting nowhere from my doctor until they do the test!!!

They might remove or biopsy the cyst and you need to see where you are going during those procedures and it is the easiest on the doctor and the patient is to use ultrasound.

kidney
I don''t think they biopsy a kidney for fear of spreading anything that might be bad. I am watching a cyst that looks like cancer, but we are going to do active surveillance for growth. I am not worried anymore. I must live with this. Smile

Cyst on Kidney
During an ultrasound for diverticulitis they found something on my left kidney which looked like a cyst. They did a ct and was inconclusive so I had to have an MRI which stated the same thing (they were not sure what it was) a year later I had an ultra sound to keep a check on it and it was gone...???? Where did it go. Urologist didn't know so I have to keep going back for an ultra sound on my kidney... Any solutions.
