One year ago I had a CT due to pain in my abdomen. They found a cystic lesion on my right kidney. They then did an MRI and said it was slightly complex. This February they did another MRI and now want me to have an ultrasound. What I don't understand is, according to my research, it seems that an ultrasound is not as informative as an MRI. Why would they want to now give me an ultrasound after an MRI with contrast? Isn't it working backwards in a way? Can anyone answer this? I am getting nowhere from my doctor until they do the test!!!
I don''t think they biopsy a kidney for fear of spreading anything that might be bad. I am watching a cyst that looks like cancer, but we are going to do active surveillance for growth. I am not worried anymore. I must live with this.
During an ultrasound for diverticulitis they found something on my left kidney which looked like a cyst. They did a ct and was inconclusive so I had to have an MRI which stated the same thing (they were not sure what it was) a year later I had an ultra sound to keep a check on it and it was gone...???? Where did it go. Urologist didn't know so I have to keep going back for an ultra sound on my kidney... Any solutions.
I had an altrasound this week of my abdomen they found something on my kidney and I was told that is was a cyst and this was very helpful to know because I know what they might have to do. Thanks. Cynthia
