I was wondering about ultrasound,I was told I was 5 weeks and 6 dys pregnant from the ultrasound technician on 05/11/,I was wondering when they measure from? Is it from date of sex or date of conception.I don't quite remember when my lmp was.

I had sex on April 2nd and April 9 th,I am confused as to what day I would have got pregnant according to the ultrasound.
Thank you

Ultrasounds done within the first trimester are pretty accurate, though not 100% exact. They measure from the conception date. But keep in mind that a conception can take place up to 72 hours after sex because sperm can live in the body for up to sevety- two hours.

So does that mean the fetus is actually only 3 weeks and 6 days old at this point?

I hope I explained it well enough in the Private message response. If not, post again and I'll try my best to help you out.
