Hi,

I have braces on and everytime i go for an adjustment i seem to get ulcers shortly after. I have a hard white lump on the inner of my lower lip at a spot which rubs against a bracket whenever i open my mouth to eat. It was sort of white/purple and painful at first but now is white, hard and painless. It's been there for a good month. What is it and what can i do about it? Here are a couple pics.

Yes, I suggest you speak to your dentist regarding the lump on your lip, and also request that they use non-latex gloves.
Regarding the ulcers, you can now get a special wax from some orthodontists which you put over the bases where they are causing irritation. Mine offered it to me three years back, but not all do. Mention that your brace is giving you bad ulcers and ask them what they can suggest.
