Q: two shadows on lung

hi my mum has just had a xray and they said she had two shadows on the top of her lung the doc said it could be tb or cancer?.could it be anything else?..i am really worried i am only 25 i dont think i could cope with my mum having cancer. has anyone had shadows at the top of their lung and it has not been cancer. she is currently waiting to go for a ct scan on the 28th of this month it does not seem a long time but to me its dragging.

As her doctors have told you, these shadows at the upper part of the lung besides cancer, can be sign of tuberculosis.
Old healed tuberculosis usually presents as pulmonary nodules in the upper lobes of lungs, seen as shadows at the x-ray picture.
Chest x-ray results are only suggestive, and the final diagnosis is done with lung CT scan or/and lung biopsy.
