Last month from Oct. 29-Nov. 5/6?, i had the first period, thinking i was done for the whole month, but around Nov. 15-18, i started having my usual pre-menstrual signs (tender, swollen breasts, lower back and abdominal pains, crankiness, and lots of sleeping and lower metabolism) and on the 26, i started up again, lasting all the way up until Dec. 2

I told my mum about it on the first day of my second time... she wants to wait until Jan. to take me to the doctor to see if i have another period this december. Im 17 and when i went through some self-help books on girls health, i read that by the age 16 a girls period should be regular and that anytime after that, any irregularites should be checked up on...

I don't know if it's because of stress (im a high school senior, desperately trying to come up with scholarship essays) or of something else... i became sexually active at the start of this school year, but im afraid that if im taken to the doctor and with a checkup, they could find something, ANYTHING, and ask my mom if im S.A. ... which is the last thing i want her to find out...

i have never been on birth control or any other hormone, never used plan b, multivitamins are the little flintstone brands or sometimes the walmart brands, and the only pills that ive ever really taken was Meprozine for my wisdom teeth removal, and with the extra pills, i used it for after rugby practice... also, when playing rugby, ive never been hit and slammed down or tackled... so i dont think i have any type of damage from anything like that...

Is it heavy bleeding or just spotting?

It could be nothing and you just had a weird month, but because you are sexually active you may as well go in for a pelvic exam anyways. Ask your mom about birth control pills because you want to regulate your period so this doesn't happen again-- the doctor may even suggest it regardless of whether you are sexually active or not.

it's was a very heavy bleeding, i had to change a new pad almost every 30-45 minutes, which was not normal for me.... i had been pretty regular before that for like 6 months...

my mom absolutely doesn't want me on b.c.... on my mother's side of the family, the women's body tends to clot up more when on b.c. (most of all of my aunts or cousins are on them) and have a greater chance of heart attacks on top of the high blood pressure they all have. on my dad's side... well, they just get really overweight, like it does something with their hormones, or something...

i would really want to get on birth control, but my mom thinks differently... to me, she won't take my view on that it will regulate my periods but sees it as a way to possibly go out and have sex, which she doesn't know at all... although i did find a title X clinic right down the road from my high school, so i also wondered how do i go about doing that... would i need to set an appointment to obtain birth control or do i just waltz right in there ask for b.c., pay for it, and go? i heard there's a class you have to take before getting b.c., so how could i do that w/o my parents finding out?

Oh, well you need to go to the doctors anyways because that heavy of bleeding is not normal at all. If this keeps up then you are going to need birth control to regulate.

You should speak with a doctor first about your heavy periods. Get a pelvic exam done and make sure everything is normal. Explain your family history and see what options the doctor has for you, he may suggest the mini pill.

Try talking with your mom and a doctor first.
You can call this clinic first or go in just for information. You'll at least need to speak with a doctor to prescribe you a pill. I'm not sure about classes, you'll need to ask when they are.

i had two periods in one month..
i had two period in one month then i missed the next one and i am about to miss one again. i have had sex before but it was protected and it was both of our firsts. i know for sure. my breasts have been very tender and a couple weeks ago my nipples were burning. i have had all the signs of a period, different discharges, cramps, bloating, irritablitiy, etc. but no period. i know i am not pregnant; i have taken multiple pregnancy tests and all are negative. the first time i we had sex i was really perinoid so i took the plan b pill. i am very intact with my body and i notice every little thing. i have been worried about my periods and i just got over with mid terms, so yes, a little stressed out. i dont know whats going on, a little advice please =)

When did you take plan B?

Between stress and plan b, its likely that your periods would be a little crazy.
