Q: Tumid Lupus & symptoms

I was diagnosed with Tumid Lupus 5 months ago but have had horrible fatigue and pain for over 10 years. I was treated for Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia 10 years ago. I felt better for years and then I developed a rash on my head, face, and upper chest that would not go away. I went to a dermatologist and the rash was biopsied. My question being, is the muscle and joint pain and fatigue, horrible headaches(that I get daily)and the rash all part of Tumid Lupus? I have been started on Vicodin for the pain,a medication for the fatigue and depression, and another medication for the headaches, and I am supposed to get a baseline eye exam to start Plaquenil. I am also using a steroid cream on the rash. The cream works, the rash goes away and then a few days later it is back. Sunscreen and hats have become my new best friends.
I have been to a few different Dr's and some of them haven't even heard of Tumid Lupus..so they don't understand that I am tired, am in pain constantly, and I feel terrible all of the time...all I know is that I am tired of being in pain and tired of being tired...anybody have any ideas?
Please let me know if you have the same problems and what you do to make them better.
Thanks!!

tumid lupus
I also have tumid lupus and know how you feel. I've been taking plaquenil, ranitidine (otc zantac), zyrtec and atarax for a few years. They seem to help. I also use aveeno anti itch in a tube, active on anti itch rollon, and triaminicinolone cream/ointment (prescription). After being referred to Kirklin Clinic here in Bham at UAB I finally got a diagnosis. I haven't seen the rheumatologist in a while because the dermatologist knows so much more and I feel more comfortable with her.
Do you live close to a large medical center? Also see if there is a Lupus Support group in your area and they can probably assist you. If you are happy with your doctor that is great.
I know what you mean about the fatigue and being so tired. Don't push yourself too hard because then you will feel worse.
I hope things will slow down now that the holidays are over.
I hope to hear back from you and know how you are doing.
