Q: Tuberculosis and TMJ

I have gone to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor four times now, and nothing about my condition has changed. The third time I went he told me it might be a little bit of TMJ because I told him my jaw hurts sometimes, it clicks, I have earches and itchy ears. But the LUMPS I have had under my ears on my neck for nearly two years now REFUSE to go away. He keeps telling me they are swollen lymph nodes and I have allergies. He keeps putting me on prednisone, which doesn't help, antibiotics and nasal sprays. These lumps really worry me. I realized after my last appointment, I didn't tell the doctor that I have had a positive skin test for TB (2004) but I've had a baby since then and a clear chest xray so no one has been concerned about it, and I have NOT ever taken medicine for it. Could this be the reason for the swollen glands? Could I have TB in my lymph nodes and not know it? Should I call this doctor back and tell him? I don't know what to do, I don't have any insurance. HELP!

THANKS!

TB can cause TMJ. If you have no money, one option is to contact your local university research hospital and sign up for reduced fee or free treatment. You need to get the TB treated.
