My Fiance and I want to start TTC again. We both agreed that we want to start very soon. I'm on bc right now and I just started a new pack which I plan on finishing before we get into that process. The thing with me is that I've been diagnosed with PCOS and that's why I've been on bc. I don't want to be on bc but I want to get better.

Questions:
Is the bc really helping my pcos?
Is there a way we can ttc with pcos?

I'm just really scared that I will stop my periods the mintue I stop bc. I'm like terrified! No joke! Right now I'm trying to explain that to my fiance. Idk what to do!!!

You should go see your doctor and discuss what your options are about TTC.

Good luck!

I to have PCOS.
My husband and I tried for over 3 years to get pregnant.
My doctor put me on Clomid and Metformin at the same time and now I am almost 30weeks pregnant with a little girl.
So it will be good idea to talk to your doctor.

Good luck and God bless!!

Thank you all for your responses. I don't have an appt until in July for them to run test on me and make sure everything is okay. Then two weeks after that I go see the doc and i'll discuss it with her. I wil finish my 6 month round of BC that she prescribed me. My fiance and I have also decided to wait to ttc after we get married in Nov. So i know that a doc wont see you until it's been over a year ofttc. I'll just stick it out. Wish us luck! Congrads to y'all that are pregnant w/ pcos!!!!

You can see your doctor before you start trying for a preconception checkup. I suggest that. They run some blood tests and make sure you are in good health for ttc (chicken pox and rhubella are the biggies) and they will write you a script for prenatal vitamins.

I'm currently ttc with pcos, so you will have company when you and your dh decide to start ttc.

there are many medications available now to help with the condition. You will need to wait until you get some bloodwork done for the doctors to decide what will be best for you. Metformin is usually the "go to" med. It helps regulate some hormones, but you may not have to take that, it will just all depend.

Not everyone with pcos has difficulty conceiving. You will just have to wait and see.

Good luck and congrats on the upcoming wedding!

They will run a screening for your chicken pox a rubella immunity.

if you do not have the correct antibodies for these diseases they will give you a vaccine and you will have to wait 3 months ttc after that. Which is why they like to do that before you start ttc.

They will do a basic physical to check blood pressure and all that good stuff.

They will go over good diet and exercise and normally give you a pap (if you are due) and an internal exam to insure that nothing feels inflamed.

Then they give you a script for prenatals (or samples to find one you like) and send you on your way.

Mine also went over charting my temp. And we discussed what we would do if I had any issues (which we knew I would) this is what helped me to get a referral to a specialist as early as I did.
