Getting Pregnant Answer A32963
Welcome to e health forum.

In healthy couples under age 30 who have sex regularly, the chance of getting pregnant is about 25 - 30% per month. In your case since it has been about 1 year since you have been trying you should consult a doctor and undergo evaluation for possible causes of delayed fertility.

A semen analysis (of your partner) should be done to rule out low sperm counts.

Conditions like severe stress, eating disorders, poor nutrition, ovarian cysts, thyroid conditions can be the cause of decreased flow of blood during the menses, and can be detected by blood tests. Tests for the level of hormones like FSH, LH, estrogen, prolactin, insulin are important. If needed a ultrasound of the abdomen can be done to rule out ovarian cysts.

In case most of the tests are normal, there is no need for any treatment.

Consulting your doctor for additional information and treatment should help you.
