Hello,
My Bf and I are just starting TTC this month and I was wondering how my career will effect getting pregnant and being pregnant. I am dog groomer which includes washing, drying, nail clipping/demel, brushing, and clipping the dogs hair. I do dogs as large as 180lbs(rare, average size 15-50 lbs), I bend, lift, turn, stand 8 hrs daily, and move the whole day. We do use cleaners such as lemon quat and window cleaner. I know that it will be difficult in later pregnancy but that is later. Would it cause any problems conceiving and the first couple months?
Thanks
Kat

Well I wasn't trying to conceive I got prego while taking birth control. But speaking from experience, I work as a nurse aide, which includes all of the things you do as well. I am due Christmas Eve and I am still working full time. Granted its getting harder, all the bending and what not but I manage. My doctor did tell me in the beginning to be careful about the weight I was lifting but not to stop doing what I am doing because my body is use to it. So I can't see much of a problem with what you do, just be careful! I forgot to add to, make sure when your working with chemicals or cleaners to make sure you wear gloves and a mask if needed. At work I always wore gloves when using any type of cleaners at work cuz we have to clean our lifts and such in infection rooms. Good Luck hun, I hope you get your with for a baby!!!
