I think I have TSS . Started my period Saturday and just used liners bc it was light. Sunday mornin it was normal so in put in a regular tampon. I changed it about forty five minutes later and it had about less than half full. I had been changin them about every hour with not much on them. Then Monday I changed about every one to two hours and not much on them. Well yesterday i put one and took it out straightaway because it wasnt in right and it hurt trying to get it out it felt stuck, wi h it neer does, and just wore liners all day. About an hour after that, I started feeling weak and tired, and I wOuld get slightly dizzy when I would get up. Then for about 30 seconds, I had a slight headache. About 8 pm that day, I had a slight ache in my shoulder for around 30 secs. May I add that I had felt weak and somewhat chilly and tired ever since. An hour after the first tampon that day. Today I woke up and been weak and tired. I got a cold water to drink and immediately felt nauseous after that for about a minute. I went downstairs and On the way up, my legs felt burning in my tibia and fibula. Also my ankle hurt. Now when I move my leg it burns slightly. Also since yesterday my thought has been just a tiny bit sore when I swallow. May I add, I had diaherra twice yesterday.
Do you think I have TSS and what should I do? I'm 14. Thanks

It does not sound like TSS, but speak to your mom about it.

Why are you using the tampons for only 1 hour? In order to use it comfortably, you should flow enough for it to lubricate the tampon on the way in. You should change your tampon after about 4 to 6 hours, and it should be fairly full at that stage? If it is not full, you should use lower absorbency tampons (teen, light or junior size), or switch to pads/panty liners. If it is not full enough, it sucks up all the natural fluids in your vaginal walls, and it will feel stuck and difficult to remove.

At some stage you will not flow heavy enough to use a tampon any more. Just switch to pads/panty liners. And remember to rather not use tampons when you sleep.

Do not think you have to use tampons. It is your choice, and it has nothing to do with your friends. It is fine to use tampons only when you go swimming or are doing physical activities.

Take care!
