Q: Trying for a baby

i don't know if i can get pregnant again me and my husban has been trying for a baby for about 6months now and notting has happend we already have a 2yr old togather so what the promblem

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth's Ask a Doctor forum.

Since you already have a child and are unable to conceive again, what you have is probably secondary infertility. This can happen due to uterine infections, fibroids, endometriosis, infection or blockage of the fallopian tubes, pelvic adhesions, wrong timings of having sex (during safe period) etc. IT could also be due to some infection causing poor quality of sperm.

Since you have been trying for 6 months and are not able to conceive, it would be a good idea to consult a gynecologist to start with. You may need to consult an infertility specialist. Hope this helps. Take care!
