Q: Trouble with directions

I'm nineteen years old and I always get my left and my right confused, most noticeably while I'm driving. Some one will tell me to take a left and I will turn right, genuinely thinking I'm going left, and vice versa. I don't know why I do this, but every time I'm given direction I'll get it wrong.

What is this? Anyone have similar problems?

I do this all the time. I have adjusted to this by pointing and saying "Right?" they will then say right or no the other right. I also tell them to point in my line of view. This decreases the confusion. I haven't figured out a way to combat this driving alone besides shaking my right hand when deciding left and right. You shake hands with your right hand.
