The past couple days I've noticed it has been hard for me to take a deep breath, or to feel like I have enough air going into my lungs. I'll try to breathe deep and it's like I just can't reach that point. I feel like I'm breathing fine but I could be taking in more air. When I'm laying in bed I can take breaths better if I'm sitting up. It's really aggravating and hard not to notice. It's been staying this way since yesterday and today, other times it was just an off and on type of thing. Another thing I noticed was if I gently press on my chest I feel a slight pain, maybe like pressure, or sensitivity. I don't know what to do about this, and it's really scaring me. I can't imagine having something wrong with me.

Trouble breathing.
I am 15 years old, & i have trouble breathing, i feel as if i'm not getting air in. My ENT doctor says i have a divated septum, and i have surgery on the 27th of this month. But yet i have trouble reminding myself i am going to be okay. I have bad axiety, & acid reflex, so i am on medication for all that. But it still feels like nothing is working. I'm feel like i'm dying everyday almost everyday, and i feel like there is no help for me, so i'm hoping and praying this surgery helps me. I wish there was someone who is suffering with my problems to talk about it with me. Please reply.

trouble breathing deeply
ok.. some say they are certain they do not have asthma.. how are u certain? do u have a pulmonary function test done? most times with asthmatic patients.. it is not that they can't get the air in.. its that normally u can't get the air out. causing hyper-inflated lungs. which then doesn't allow u to take on more air because they are already filled.. try breathing against resistance.. this may help.. such as squeez your lips together and blow

loss of breath
im currently experiencing the same kind of thing, although ive noticed mine gets worse with stress - though wen im relaxed it is there. i know im breathig normally but it just doesnt seem to be enough - i have to take a big breath almost like that of a yawn to feel satisfied that i have enough air. went to the docs today had some blood tests done and an ecg - normal rhythm with unusual p axis (82), multple premature complexes: ventr & iventr, borderline intraventricular conduction delay & nonspecific inferior t wave abnormalities. they gave me an inhaler which does seem to help ease breathing - not asthmatic have to go back on friday for results of blood test tho there is a history of heart problems in my family such as a racing then slowing heartbeat.

I've had the same problems for about a month now. I've been in and out of the emergency room. I even had to leave school because my blood pressure was 140/100 and my heart rate 136. I'm 15 so I know I'm too young for high blood pressure. I've had trouble breathing and it feels as though I can't get enough air into my lungs. I've had chest pains on and off, too. During the day, I stop breathing without realizing it myself. Someone always has to ask me why I'm holding my breath. Does anyone know what this is?

Same problems
I've had the same thing for over 10 years now and I've determined it to be almost entirely anxiety related. I take Lexapro and Xanax and the Xanax seems to help the most overall. I think we are usually tense and stressed and it is restricting our lungs, and possible muscles around the lungs and chest which makes it difficult for them to expand properly. I find when this starts happening that after taking a xanax and waiting about 15-30 minutes I can finally get those deep breaths in. This is just my case and could be related to others but you should still see your docotor.

hello, I would go to the doctors as you could have a chest infection, Asthma progressing as asthma can start from any age or you could have bruised you lungs doing something.
Go to the doctors and see what you find.

Wow, the doctors keep pawning me off to different unrelated causes...such as heartburn. Didn't know others were out there. Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy. I'm off to the Doctor on Friday, but believe mine to be anxiety related...just found out teen daughter is pregnant...causing some anxiety. I've been keeping a log identifing sleep pattern, breathing pattern, temperatures, humidity, alergy index, foods eaten, etc to take to my doctor. Sure hope I get some answers.

Note to Hiwhatsup: At 15, you are not to young for high blood pressure. I had it for 16 years when at 30 had my adrenal gland removed which helped a lot. I was on 11 HBP pills a day and still registered pressurs of 210/180. After removal, things got better, now just 1 pill a day and managable BP...See a doctor.

I believe what your all suffering from is Hyperventalation. The reason why you seem that your lungs are full is because you have too much oxygen in them already. However, it feels that you need air right? So what you do is you yawn and take in deep breathe's regularly. This is incorrect...because it will make it into a bad habit. Leading to chronic Hyperventalation. Reduce your anxiety, stress and keep your mind off of it. Easier said then done I know....Just try and most of all death related to this problem is very rare.

Wow.. All I can say is Wow.. I feel like I can't breathe everyday all day and it is scaring the crap out of me! I went to the pulmonologist, and he did a breathing test which turned out to be alright. so he gave me two inhalers and the albeuterol interacts with my blood pressure medicine causing me to have a high heart rate.. Idk what the heck is going on but I'm tired of feeling like crap!

I have trouble breathing as well, I sometimes grab onto my steering wheel so I can breathe in air, I have to hold on something and try so hard to breathe, I went to the doctors run xrays they said nothing is wrong they gave me prescription for anxiety and I wasnt under any stress or pressure so forth, doctors said, I dont know whats causing all this, everything looks normal and yet they still prescribe strong medications?? I told him if you dont know whats going on with me then DO NOT give me any medication I'll go look for another doctor, I only feel better when I go to sleep, hopefully someone will come up with the same story.

trouble breathing
I know exactly what your problem is, you have muscle tension that is restricting your diaphram. mine is usually caused by sit ups or some type of unnatural exercise or physical activity I have done. A muscle relaxer will help, and I usually walk it off. long walks. when you try to get your breath you are usually swallowing lots of air which will make your stomach bloat with air to add to your discomfort.

your not alone
ive had this issue on and off for several years. whenever the issue does arise, i am really gassy and i end up burping a lot. i had an ekg and ultra sound done and i also wore a holter monitor for 24 hours. the ekg showed irregular heart beats but the ultra sound cleared everything up. the Doctor said i was fine and that he doesnt know what it could be. after reading so much on this topic, i really believe that the issues lies in the stomach..or hyper inflation of the lungs...maybe both. what i do know is that im going through some real intense training and that may have something to do with it. my diet could be better and this condition gets worse when i drink. your not alone people...i feel the same way. whats weird is that they had to fit two xrays of my lungs because they were so large. he said i had the lungs of a runner..i run a lot, but maybe inflation of the lungs is also an issue we should consider.

Im 19 years old and i can say Doctors just aren't listening to me as well . Since I was 6 I ve had the same symptoms that most of you are having except I also have pain in my heart . Doctors have been ignoring me for years they have sent me to 3 different specialists and I ve walked Into 3 ER rooms as well And they always do the sAme tests EKG and x-ray there always normal . Those are just the most recent times. Pain cannot just be imagined guys because of our age they think we should be healthy . Most doctors I go to when they haven't found an answer they blame it on anxiety then send me home with pills well I'm sick of it . This doctor is a bit of a drive but he listens and he ll definitely figure out what's wrong with you give him a go . His name is Dr. Allee and he s located in Pauls Valley , Oklahoma . If your ready for help good luck

Thank you for not making me feel like I'm crazy! The pain in my heart hurts so badly and is almost always accompanied with the breathing. I've had anxiety attacks before and this is not one. My heart isn't racing. What could it be?

Alergies
I have been having trouble breathing for about two and half months. I recently went to the alergist who found that I am alergic to dust mites. She told me to take Clariten, and bag by mattress in a bed cover. Also I vacuum frequently adn thoroughly. If you are having problems breathing and can't find the cause, please see an alergist! My breath is now almost back to normal.

Wow. I have so many similar things going on with me it's great to know I'm not alone in this. I was kind of wondering though if any of your problems were maybe also followed by some other things i've been dealing with. I have trouple filling my lungs and then I also start to get scared and dizzy at that point sometimes too. I have also been dealing with a lot of side pain which I go to the doctor for all the time and get told so many different things. Any ideas?

i was having trouble breathing to the point of vertigo... no mucus just nasal inflammation and heaviness in my chest.. i went on two different types of antibiotics and a nasal steroid with out much success.. all the doctors could say was that i had develop some sort of allergy... i stumbled upon a PH tester in the health food store... my PH was a 6.2... normal range is 7 witch is neutral i stared capping up backing soda to balance my PH 2 in the morning and 2 at night.. i notice a deference right a way i did this for about a week/week and half straight i even stopped using my nasal spray and just use backing soda when i feel symptoms.. i think this works because acids cause inflammation in the body ... hope this helps.. please post after trying
