Trisomy 15 what are the chances it will happen again?

User Profile
I recently had to terminate a pregnancy at 23 weeks due to severe abnormalities to the fetus due to Trisomy 15.
1 What are the chances I would have another complication (any trisomy) with another pregnancy?
2 How long should we wait to conceive after a loss at 23 weeks?

Thank you

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

Trisomy 15 is rare, and chances of recurrence are less. If in association with other trisomies, then chances of recurrence are more. However, it would be better to consult a geneticist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
