I'm new to this forum and need a question answered: I was recently diagnosed and treated for Trich by my OB/GYN. One of the things my doctor told me was to make sure my partner was treated as well. Now before I go into that, I will say that my doc has been in the past diagnosing me with BV (and my specific symptoms for both were the exact same). Anyway, my partner went and got tested for absolutely everything (at a Planned Parenthood of all places). I saw his results and everything was negative. He had blood drawn as well as a urine sample. So my question is, where is this coming from? When we sleep together, my symptoms appear within a few days and this is what she told me I had. So yesterday, I called my doc (and of course was given a nurse instead) and explained this to her and all she said was "I don't know what to tell you... maybe your doc made a mistake... the only other way to catch it is by using another person's soiled towel..." I called his doc and explained the same thing and she also said the same thing. So, now I'm afraid to sleep with him since no one can tell me what's going on. HELP!!!!!! Mad

P.S. Also when I was being examined, my doc said she saw "dead Trich" but a very small amount of live ones, and she gave me the anti-biotics anyway. Where is this coming from???

The symptoms of trich and bacterial vaginosis is almost the same. you can have itching on the clitoris, pain urination, a fishy odor, and discharge.
I know someone whose doctor told them they dont have anything even though they had the symptoms mentioned above. So that person went to another doctor and the second opinion doctor told her she had trich.
So iam confused about how one doctor gave her a clean bill of health when another doctor did not.
Even when you go to the hospital there is a form you sign that speaks about error in diagnosis and how they are not liable for.
It is possible that you had bacteria vaginosis (ment dont get this) and this could be the reason why you boyfriend was given a clean bill of health.
in closing, all is well because the medication you are given is the medicine that clears up BV and trich.
I do suggest you use condoms so you dont have to go through that again.
