Hey I am knew to this site but have a couple of questions. I have had some odd thoughts and sometimes some paranoid thoughts although I know down inside that they aren't true it still really gets too me. Especialy with the derealization that I have in moderation, I am worried that I'm starting to slip away from reality. What are some supplements I could take? Also is working out good to do? I am gonna go back to my doctor but until then is there anything else I can do to help if not eliminate these thoughts, at least keep them in check thank you

Are you looking to take vitamins or supplements? It might not be a good idea to seek treatment before you have a diagnosis. When is your appointment with your psychiatrist or doctor?

Dietary sources of omega-3 fatty acids include fish oil and certain plant/nut oils. Although omega 3 supplements have shown to help some school aged children (7-10 years old) improve in some areas of memory and cognitive skills...evidence is not clear. I don't think that fish oil will help you manage depression or thought disorder...but St. John's Wort has shown to help treat depression.

There are indesputable double blind studies that have been conducted that have shown that fish oil, not flax seed, can and will improve many mental health disorders. You may need other medications in conjunction with the fish oil. told us to make sure It does help but it takes time to see the difference. Fish oil has been definativly shown to be efficacious for mood disorders. You should bring this up with your psychiatrist. It is fairly common to use fish oil for mood disorders.
