Q: Treatment for chronic inflammation of the epididymis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on February 8th, 2009
Whenever I ejaculate, the area around the tail & duct of my epididymis in both my testis swells up and gets hard like the soft tissue on the end of your nose. There is no pain, & I ejaculate like normal. It goes away after a few minutes. There is a very mild pain all day long in the same area, and the epididymis in both testes are slightly swollen. I've had an ultrasound that showed there were no tumors and an urine analysis that came back normal. I am quoting this question from beloved33, as i could not put it better myself. this swelling i am experiencing has increased over the months and its very upsetting considering the doctors dont think there is anything wrong. Please help me identify what is wrong. And if it help i have been sexually active. Thank you

Sexual Health - Men Answer A5717
Current medical status: Consulted a doctor, and had an ultrasound to rule out testicular cancer
Current medical treatment: No medication

According to the data you reported, you might be experiencing chronic inflammation of the epididymis. The chronic inflammation of the epididymis might be caused by an infection. You might want to visit a urologist for sperm culture and an antibiogram. If positive, the antibiogram would point out the antibiotics that might be used.
