Extremely eHealthy
The most important thing to do for a patient experiencing ischemic stroke, is to restore the person's breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and temperature to normal as soon as symptoms are manifested.
Since the stroke has result from blockage of brain artery by blood clot or atherosclerotic plaque, the patient is given drugs to break up the blood clots and drugs to make blood less likely to clot.
If a stroke is very severe, drugs such as mannitol may be given to reduce swelling and the increased pressure in the brain.
Carotid endarterectomy, or surgical removal of atheromas or clots (endarterectomy) in an internal carotid artery may be done, too.

Best wishes!
