Q: Treating thrush with Clotrimazole

I am 11 weeks pregnant nd i have thrush i was wondering would it be safe to use pessary and cream to get rid of it ?

You should consult with your gynecologist about the exact generic medication you want to apply. For example, one of the most used antifungal medications, clotrimazole, is used with precaution, because no specific studies have been conducted. However, a lot of pregnant women have used it without any apparent harmful effects. What you might want to watch out for is to avoid applying the pessary with an applicator and use the fingers instead.
