Back Pain Answer A4781
Current medical status: sharp back pain when I twist. I had a bad fall about a week ago. Urgent Care doc did x-rays but found nothing.
Current medical treatment: ice pack and heat pad
Because an X-ray didn't confirm any broken bone (fracture) the remaining possibility is a soft tissue injury. Muscle tear (rupture) is one of the possibilities. You need an ultrasound examination to locate the blood collection (haematoma) inside the back musculature.
Muscle tear is treated with painkillers, resting, and physical therapy.
