Q: Treating a genital bump with corticosteroid creams
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 12th, 2009
This morning I woke up with a bump near and my vagina. Its on the right side very close to where I urinate. It is hard and actually is alittle painful. It looks like a pimple but larger. Please help?? Is it a cyst or maybe HPV?? My last checkup was July08.

It is hard to say what the bump is without seeing it. Genital warts caused by human papilloma virus usually appear in clusters. A cyst is the more probable diagnosis. You might try to apply topical corticosteroid creams to decrease the inflammation. If the bump grows larger or the surrounding tissue turns red, hot or painful you might want to visit your doctor for further treatment.
