I have a bakers cyst on the back of my right knee, I notice it last summer (or maybe the summer before) but lately my knee is very sore and tight and it has even cause my leg to swell (down to my ankle)- I really haven't had any problem with it for at least a year but now it's starting to bother me and I don't have insurance and I need to know what I can do about it. I have 2 kids and really can't afford a hospital bill. Any free clinics (in the Sharon, Pa area) that could take care of this.

I used to have mine drained and inserted with a shot of cortisone...Later they said that this really didn't do that much good...Possibly because it would become so weak after this was done..Then, too, you have to watch for infections...Again I would say get off of it....The more you rest it, the more the swelling goes down...Keep your weight down...This is all stress on your knee joint...Stay away from golfing and sports where you twist your knee...Bowling is a rough one...Just plain "baby it"....

There should be free clinics in your area, but I am sorry I am not familiar with them....Good luck and have a nice Holiday...
