Hi there, I'm 22 (female) and before ALL this, ive only had a UTI once as a child, when i was about 2 so i don't remember it at all.
But since Late November I have had never ending UTI's.. I'm litterally off anitbiodics for 3 or 4 days and back in the doctors office with another one, im SOOO SICK OF THIS!!
Now i have my worst one yet. Tuesday the doctor put me back on Cipro (which has always worked) and it did nothing, im soo sick, i have fever chills, night sweats, im dizzy and Ive been throwing up for the past 2 days (i can keep meals down but when the pain gets bad up it comes again). I was in emerg today, they did a Kidney ultra sound and it came back ok. But they still believe the infection has moved to my kidney now with all my symtoms.
So now im on Macobid DS (just took my first pill) and I'm praying to God it works. Emerg refered me to a Urologist and on Monday I go for a Voiding Cystogram.
Right now I feel like all i can do is pray, it feels like im NEVER going to get better, I'm usualy an active on the go person and this has just ruined me, i have no energy and have missed so much work that im basically unemployed :(

PLEASE PLEASE, im desperate for anything here, will this ever end!!! Has anyone experianced this???

**** ALSO if anyone can tell me how to help the nausea you will be my god sent!****

Ouch!
Yes, see a Urologist. I had to have my Urethra stretched every few months because it was so small. It helped, also drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Is your urine cloudy? could be something else going on, have your Gyno test you for evrything from A to Z. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thank you so much for a reply.
At the hospital today they did do a series of paps and cultures and you name it they scraped me for... sooo painful! So im waiting on that result too - as it takes a few days.

Did you find anything helped to ease discomfort and/or nausea?

If you drink Cranberry juice make sure that is UNsweetened.

I have had my share of UTI's and a few kidney infections.

Sounds like your UTI did not respond well to antibiotics and now has involved your kidney(s)....

I used to put a heating pad over my bladder area and that would ease some of the pain. For the nausea, I ate a few saltines. Did they also test you for bladder and/or kidney stones? Do you have any blood in your urine? If they keep you on antibiotics to long they will stop working. Have they tried sulfa tabs? I'm sorry for your pain, I remember it like it was yesterday. Let me know, I'm hoping they fix it soon.

Hi thank-you for the suggestions. I am feeling slightly better this morning.. well i wouldnt call it better per say but i dont think i feel worse, it does hurt more to go from standing to sitting. But anyways to answer some of your questions;
They did a kidney ultra sound and said everything came out clear.

As for blood in my urine, I can't visibily see it but there is a high 'micro' trace of it, like at the doctors on the pH stick, it is suppose to turn orange when ok, and mine went dark dark green - black instantly.

Sulfa tabs are in the septra family correct? If so I'm allergic to septra Sad, which i know really sucks because thats what the doctors keep turning to and then give me an "oh, well we can't do that then"

For nausea this morning Ive already told myself im not moving from my bed (lucky me i have a laptop) and I bought chewable gravol at the pharmacy - ITS HORRID tasting!!! but it does dissolve quickly. So ive already started popping those, AND popsicles right now seem to work. I havent thrown up today yet (touch wood)! I too was using a heating pad but lastnight it decided to pop in the microwave Sad i'm hoping my mom will be able to go out and get me another...

Argh i feel soo helpless i can't stand this, i dont think ive ever been this sick ever!

Damn- I feel your pain, I just got to work so I could use the Computer,(no high speed in the stix). Sounds alot like me though, I can no longer use alot of those Meds either. Sounds pretty bad, I would think they would hospitalize you for more extreme tests because obviously your not getting better. When do you go back in? Let me know whats next,I am very worried about you now. If you just need to chat I'm here for ya. Machele
