Hi,
I am 19 years old and getting ready to travel to south africa for 8 months, partly for study and to do some aid work. I was wondering what vaccinations would be required for a trip like this in as few injections as possible!! i get a bit freaked out about them!!
Thanks!!

Hi

I live in south africa and you don't need any vaccinations, haha. Only if you are going to some of the other African countries, you might need malaria tablets or something Smile

Go to your doctor and ask what he or she would recommend. At the very least, you should make sure that your standard shots are up-to-date, such as Tetanus. Ask about Hepatitis A and B, as well.

I know you want to get as few shots as possible, but they are for your own protection. It's not that where you're going is dirty, it's just that you don't have immunity to their infections because you don't live there.
