Hi all - 53 year old guy called John in Chester here...

I have been putting off a Total hip replacement for some years now foe some years as the rules and restrictions imposed after a normal THR seemed un-do-able to me ( like sleeping only on your back for 3 months afterwards - how do you do that at 4 in the morning when asleep, unless you tie yourself to the bed on your back !! )

Until recently my local GP has flatly refused to let me have the more modern "minimally invasive" type operation as no-one in the immediate area performs it. ( For those who don't know, this gets you back at work etc in around 2 weeks, not 3 months !! )

Now with the NHS "choose and book" scheme it seems I might be in with a chance of getting it done and none too soon as I am now in allot of pain most of the time and it disturbs my sleep something rotten !!

My question is = Has anyone out there had any experience of the "minimally invasive" type operation and got any comments I might be interested in ?

Best regards to all, John in Chester
