Hello,

My boyfriend has been having problems with his groin area for a couple of years, about 2 years ago he pulled his left groin and he was in extreme pain, but he got over that, but now he slipped on some ice and is having similar pain with it. Not as severe but there is swelling on his inner thigh right next to his groin, he has gone to the doctor 3 times now, but each time he is told that there is nothing there only a torn muscle. He thinks that he feels a lump or a mass almost every time he feels it, and i have looked and felt there many times and didnt seem to feel what he says is there. So is there anyway possible that a torn muscle could cause a hernia or lump?

He says that sometimes he can feel something and others times he can't, the only thing that i could figure out is that he is constantly feeling around in this area, and maybe he is feeling muscles and tissues that haven't actually felt before, and now he thinks that it doesnt belong there..also, i'm afriad that if he keeps telling himself that there is something there, then he will have that notion in is head at all times, and stressing about something that may not be there, can be dangerous to his health, can't it?
