For the past 2 weeks now, I have been getting a terrible pain on the left side of my hip. It is kind of on the hip, top of the thigh, top of the buttock. At first I thought I may have bruised it, but there is no mark and it has been over 2 weeks now and I am really starting to worry.
The pain comes and goes, I am getting it about 3/4 times a day, but each time lasting between 30 - 45 minutes and in this time I can move around and get on with what I am doing, but it just hurts so much. When this pain does come on, I find it really hard to sit down just because it hurts so much, the pain is getting worse.

If anyone knows what it could be I would be so greatful if you were to tell me what you are thinking.

I am 20 years old, I have nothing wrong with me and I work as a office assistant whereby I do do some lifting but not very much.

Thanks

Hi Kitty Kim

Does the pain travel down the back of your legs at all ?
You may have a trapped nerve in your lover back.
Have you spoken to your doctor about it, it may be inflamed muscle, in
which case you might have to take anti-inflamatories.
Until you have sought a Doctors advise to you really know the course of action to take.

Take care, and hope things get better for you soon.

This seems to be a referred pain from your back, but I could not rule out a bursitis in the hip joint either. Ice, rest, and anti-inflamatories might be a good way to start treating it. If this fails to provide the results you are looking for, you might try seeing an osteopath to check and see if your sacrum is a little off-kilter. If it is the hip, it can be alleviated usually with a little injection and some physical therapy.

Hi Kittykim
this sort of pain could be connected to the sciatic nerve. This is a painful experience but with the correct medication your pain should ease......Get that doctors appointment made!!!

Good luck take care and I hope you soon get it sorted.
