Hi. I'm an athlete. A year ago i hurt my knee and I couldn't do anything physical and I put on 30 pounds. A couple of month ago I started do exercise again and I put myself on Atkins. I don't feel well, am nauseous all the time. Is this normal? Is it form the Atkins diet?

probably..atkins is low carb correct...getting rid of carbs is really not a healthy way to loose weight in my opinion..you should have a well balanced diet including ALL food groups..eat healthy carbs not refined..

The main problem with Atkins is that it doesn't stress the quality of the food you're supposed to eat, which is wrong. If you eat around 200g or so of vegetable carbohydrates a day, you'll be fine. Weight lifting, I use a diet somewhat similar to Atkins but with around 200g of carbohydrates, all from healthy vegetables and fruits. I eat around, jeez, ummm, 15 servings of them per day. Do that and you'll be fine if you want to eat lower carbohydrates. If you follow a diet similar to many indian tribes, which was primarily meat/nuts/berries/greens, you'll get amazing results.
