Q: Could I Be Pregnant Or Is It Just Wishful Thinking?

I started my last menstrual cycle on June 7th and I am always very regular (every 27-29 days). My husband and I did not use any form of birth control because we wanted to try and get pregnant. I don't know if I am just having wishful thinking, but I have slight cramps and very sore breasts. I am breaking out more than usual and I am very tired. I have taken a HPT and it came out negative. I know lots of tests say you can test 5 days early, but now I'm 6 days late. How much longer should I wait to take another test? And is it possible that I am pregnant and it's just too early?

Last month was the first month off my pill and i had the same symptoms...but i wasn't pregnant. I thought for sure because i was breaking out that badly that i had to be pregnant. I think it has to do with the major change in hormones because you just got off the pill. BUT it could still mean that your pregnant.

If you are 6 days late, you can take another test anytime. If it is still negative and still no af, you might want to go to the doctor to get a blood test just to ease your mind.
Good luck, I hope you get that positive you are looking for.

I have a funny story...well wasn't funny at the time but seven years later it is. I lived with a roomate...she said to me that she thought she was pregnant. She took a few tests and they all came out negative. She came to me and said that she just feels it if she isn't then I must be. I told her she was crazy...I had no symptoms at all and at the time I was irregular and was not good about keeping track of my periods. But due to the fact that I had no symptoms I didn't think I was. I took a home test and it was negative. A few days later I went on a cleaning binge...she looked at me and laughed and said "awww the nesting stage, I am telling you that you are pregnant" I told her to shut up and leave me alone that she was nuts. I took another test after that because she insisted. That too came out negative. I realized that it had been a while since I got my period and got worried, I took another test and also made an appointment for the doctor and had a blood test. Both were negative. Suddenly one day out of nowhere about a week later I broke out in hives...I used to get them once a year around that time of year. I asked my friend to take me to the ER to get a shot of benadryl. We got to the ER and they asked when my last period was. I told them I was unsure they insisted on a pregnancy test and told me that they would not give me benadryl without it I argued that I had taken many tests and went to the doctor and it was all negative...they still insisted...me being in so much pain I did it. The doctor came in the room about an hour later to tell me that she could not give me the shot and that I was pregnant! I was in shock. I went to the doctor the following day and did an ultrasound. Low and behold I was, and 7 weeks at that! All that time I was getting false negatives and was thinking I was not and I was...so I don't really trust a negative home test I would always follow up with a test by a doctor...it's a great joke now that I walked in with hives and walked out pregnant and my daughter is 7 and amazing but you just never know and never can completely trust the home tests. I would continue to take the tests and also call the doctor and make an appointment.
