Q: Geting Pregnant

Im 17 years old, currently live with my boyfriend in a stable relationship, and between my boyfriend (Karl) and myself we have 3 jobs. We are financially independant ie no benefits or anything. Is it wrong for me to want a child? I know i can provide the love and attention a child needs, and we are financially ok (although i know a baby could change that drastically and eat into the savings). I spoke to Karl about it and he said if i want a child hes ok with that and if i dont want one, hes ok with that too. The thing is, i want a child, ive wanted a child for a long time, and i havent exactly done anything to stop it from happening, although for some reason my period just stopped 5 months ago when i was on b/c and hasnt returned yet, 3 weeks after i came off it. But is it wrong for a 17 year old to purposely go out and get pregnant? I dont drink, i dont smoke and i have very few friends so im not worried about having no social life.
Sorry its so long and probably goes round in circles but im a bit confused and stuff.

IT is NOT wrong to want to be pregnant even if you are young like yourself. At 17, it is indeed not advisable but it is definitely NOT wrong especially if you are financially stable and in a serious stable relationship with your partner. If I were you, I would wait a a little bore, at least until you turn 18. In that way, you won't be a minor anymore. I advice that you do a lot of thinking about this since parenting is really a life changing event for a lot of people. Although, the decision is up to you. Since you sound mature at your age, I guess you can decide for yourself.

No, it is not wrong.
As long as you know what you are getting into [which it sounds like you do]
And you are prepared to take care of your baby.

Im Angel, new here, and im 19 and 20wks pregnant. I wanted my baby, and tho i would NEVER tell my mother, we tried to have this baby. Maybe bcuz i miscarried in jan, but in March i got preggers again, and now i couldnt be happier.

If this is what you really want, then go for it...and Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for replying. I really appreciate the help and advice. Ive been thinking about this decision for a while, and have decided that, although im not going to TRY to get pregnant, im not going to do anything to stop it from happening either. Oh, i dont know if its on my profile, but im from New Zealand, and 16 is legal here, thought id mention that for Haliparot, who suggested i wait till im no longer a minor. And a big welcome to Angel! To the girlfriend, I know it will be hard no matter what, but im up for a challenge, and congrats on the baby.
Again, cheers for all the honesty and support.
