Q: Sex during menstrual period - bleeding stopped and started .

For the first time yesturday, I decided to have sex during my period and while having intercourse the bleeding stopped completely, but started again once we were finished. Is this normal?

Bleeding can become either more or less intensive during menstruation. The intensity of bleeding during menstruation is individual and it seems normal that your period would stop and start again after intercourse. Nonetheless, sex during a menstrual period is not recommended because of the increased risk for infection.
