Polyistic Ovarian Syndrom ?
Posted: 07-10-07 07:11am

I have polyistic ovarian syndrom and I to had to be on metformin & colmid and after 7 months of not being able to get pregnant the doctor told me to just take a break for a few months. I am still on metformin but no longer on the colmid, My husband has been tested and his little swimmers seem to be just fine so my question is what else can we do?

Liseanne,

I had the same problem, was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease. I was married 10 yrs, took all kinds of fertility treatment drugs etc. The only thing that helped me was having laporoscopy surgery where the doctor went in and put holes in my ovaries so that the eggs can be released. Shortly after than, I say maybe a year or two is when I was 26 weeks pregnant and did not know. Talk about big suprise. Once I got pregnant that one time, I have been pregnant 4 other times since (3 live births and 2 miscarriages). You may want to go to an endocrinologist, get your hormones tested, check your pituitary gland etc and then go from there.
