I am 24 years old and I just recently had a baby, I found out six years ago that I have SLE. My SLE is considered to be mild I suffer some of the norms joint, headaches, and I have kidney involvement. I have increased in breast size and they are not going away. I know that there are huge risk with me trying to get any types of surgeries in my condition. i'm just tring to find out if there is anyone out there there who may have already gone through this and could give me a little insight as to what I am getting into.

Breast reduction and lupus
Your post was a couple years ago. Have you gone through with the reduction? I have lupus and had a reduction recently.

Regarding your consern about breast reduction
I have Lupus and I just got a breast reduction and is taking more time then usually to heal but is healing.
If you have someone to help you around the house with cleaning and helping you getting up and taking a shower then go for it, cause it is going to take longer to heal.

When considering breast surgery, it is important to really evaluate your reasons behind this very big decision, as it is not something that should be taken lightly. Some of the main reasons women choose to undergo breast surgery are: to regain the shape and size they had before pregnancy or breast feeding: regain shape and size after weight loss; to enhance the size of very small breasts and to improve on the symmetry of their breasts (if one breast is larger than the other). Also they could opt for it because of the idea that a fuller and larger breast shape will make them feel more shapely and womanly.

I also have lupus with kidney involvement but have been in remission since the inital dx in 2007 and am doing wonderfully. I'm on a very low dose pred and daily plaquenil. Since giving birth 3+ years ago my breasts have become quite large but I still have a small frame. They're heavy, saggy and uncomfortable and by the end of the day my bra starts to hurt especially on the shoulders. I recently asked my rheumatologist and she doesn't see any problem with it seeing that my meds are so minimal. She just wants me to ask my nephrologist first to see what he thinks about going under general anesthesia with the kidney issues I've had. I'm REALLY hoping he'll say it's ok but I have a feeling he won't. Simply because he's very old school and yes, he's an old fart! Aside from spending a fortune on bras and bathing suits because I'm an uncommon size (34 DDD), I just can't take them anymore! Heck, if they say the only choice I had was to remove them completely I would at this point!

Any advice/personal experience would be wonderful.
