Q: Any Treatment For a Loud Voice?

My hubby has a problem of having a very loud voice. He is 48, was treated before for sleep apnea (unsure if this info will be relevant). He does not talk loud all the time but when he does, he gets reallly loud to the extend where it gets me literally jumping out of my chair. Shocked

there were many ocassions when he would be playing with our 2 year old son and "non fatal accidents" happen where my son would throw an object and hit him in the eye and that's when he would give a very, very loud "ouch!!!!" that scares my son and myself. That's the extent of how loud that is. It has been really bothering me even though he said its just natural response and he said he couldn't help having a loud voice. Gets me jumpy wondering when will it be the next time he would be giving a super loud yelp. I know its natural for people to yell out of pain but i've never heard anyone who would yell at such an intense volume.

I'm wondering if this is any kind of voice disorder or is there some kind of surgical treatment to "soften" one's voice??

Any help would be much appreciated!! Idea

I don't know if there is anything medically that can be done, but he can always make an effort to tone it down! Now, when he is yelling in pain, he probably would not be thinking about that, but in general, he should learn how to keep it down. Does he have any hearing problems though? Maybe he really does not think he is being very loud. Sorry I could not help more.
