Newest Herpes
I have been treated for a single herpes zoster in the corner of my eye. Being medically treated with "CLINOVAR 400" in tablet form. Not a cure but reduces imflammation until next time. Don't know if it is new.

I heard that zinc can really help an outbreak if applied directly to the sore. So if the HBalm you have contains zinc then it will probably be good to use. There is also a natural vitamin called Lysine that helps prevent outbreaks. But most of this stuff you have to take everday to prevent outbreaks. Or you can take the medication when you feel an outbreak coming. Either way the outbreaks come and they wont ever go away. You kinda just learn to live with it.

The anti-virals are the way to go, valrex or famovir. Go see a doctor and get them, generic are available but you have to take them every few hours.

H-balm seems to help keep the virus from spreading once it reaches the lip, but the actual virus is deep inside the nervous system and topical solutions only go a few layers of skin.

Start the anti-viral medication a soon as you feel the tingle or itch, most of the time I have no sore or a vary small one. The longer you wait the more virus you have to deal with and the more damage will be done to your lip. Once the damage is done, its done. The sore will just have to heal, using Abreva after the blister has burst or gone down will speed healing time.

So in summary, anti-viral and keep h-balm on the site until it starts to heal then use Abreva. keep the anti-viral with you at all times !!!!
